The leader of the ring is none other than the most recognizable brand name in management education that has ever existed in India. IIM Ahmadabad came into existence on 16 December 1961 as an outcome of incessant efforts of eminent physicist Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. The college was established in collaboration with Harvard Business School. Located in Vastrapur, which is the most posh area of Ahmadabad city, IIM Ahmadabad is surrounded by various shopping malls, lakes, gardens and other regions meant for recreation and fun activities. The campus was designed by Louis Kahn, a famous American architect. There are two campuses, Heritage campus and the New Campus that together cover an area of 100 acres.

One of the oldest business schools of India, XLRI Jamshedpur was established in 1949.
